Makalu Circuit Trek is the combinations of 3 different passes. Sherpini Col (6180m), West Col ( 6190m), and Amphu Laptsa La(5850m). It takes you to the base camp of Mt. Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world. 

It offers awe-inspiring views of Himalayan peaks including Makalu, Everest, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu, Baruntse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Thamserku, and others. It is a strenuous trek but it is a great trek to experience unspoiled splendor and to encounter various species of flora and fauna. 

The major highlights of Makalu Circuit Trekking are breathtaking views of highest peaks in the world, stunning and rarely trekked route with a number of beautiful local settlements, the encounter of endangered flora and fauna, unspoiled natural splendor and unexploited culture of local people of Makalu region. The trek begins from Tumlingtar of Makalu region to reach the base camp of Makalu, then crosses three difficult passes to reach Everest region and ends at Lukla from where we take a flight back to Kathmandu. The trekking trail is through Makalu Barun National Park as well as Sagarmatha National Park which is rich in flora and fauna. You can encounter various species of flowers, varieties of orchids, rhododendron and different species of wildlife. The park is home to endangered animals like red panda, musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, Ghoral, etc.

Makalu Circuit Trek is a challenging trek and it requires anybody to have prior experience of trekking and climbing. Good health and fitness is a must for this trek. The best time for Makalu Trek is March to May and September to November. It is camping trek and Himalayan Trekking Alliance will make good camping accommodation with all required equipment and prepare a meal ourselves. Makalu circuit trek, trekking to Mt. Makalu base camp begins from Tumlingtar, where we reach by direct flight from Kathmandu. From Tumlingtar we head to Manebhanjyang, by crossing Tumlingtar, we reach valleys, where many ethnic communities inhibit who have long preserved their culture. Trekking route passes through the lush forest, sub-tropical valley, flora and fauna, natural showcase and scenic views of the majestic Himalayas. Subsequently to proceed the out journey to chinchilla and then to Num, ( Now also possible to take Jeep to Num directly from Tumlingtar for both ways. It makes your trip several days short).

Seduwa, Tashingaon, Khongma, Mumbuk and we finally reach Neh Kharka and take a rest for acclimatization, once we are ready with the altitude, we proceed our trekking to Yak Kharka and then finally we reach at Makalu base camp, where we rest and explore the scenes of this less explored areas and then after all we return back to Neh Kharka and then to Mumbuk, subsequently to Khogma, Seduwa, and then at Num, Chichilla and Manebhanjyan and finally we come back to Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu. On these programs, trekkers can go directly to Num by Jeep from Tumlingtar. It is better to be away by traffic local transportation. But beautiful site we missed to see easily.
